Species: Fennec Fox
Age: 5 years
Todd and Vixie were the first animals to find their forever home at A New Hope. They came to us in the summer of 2014 after their previous owners decided they no longer wanted them. Originally, the pair was meant to be cute exotic pets for a 12 year old child. After reaching sexual maturity, Todd's foxy behavior started to show and he began biting. In response, they were both moved to a rabbit hutch outdoors where they lived for years.
Vixie is a very sweet and very shy girl. She loves being told she's a "pretty girl" and will scream with excitement when she's spoken to in a baby voice. She loves laying in the sun and being pet by the people she trusts.
About Fennec Foxes:
Fennec Fox are the smallest members of the canine family. Native to the Sahara Dessert, these adorable little critters spend their days navigating the desert and hunting for small prey. Fennec fox are excellent diggers, hunters, and survivalists. Unlike most types of fox, they mate for life and form very deep family bonds.
