About Isis:

Isis is an albino raccoon who was rescued from severe neglect by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources when they found her along with several other animals being kept in atrocious conditions. She was in a suspended wire cage and had likely never felt the ground beneath her feet. She came to us covered in fleas, missing hair, and covered in sores from the wire. Her whole rear was raw with urine burns due to the filthy conditions.

The DNR asked us to hold her temporarily while they secured a permanent home for her, and within days we fell in love. She had been described as "highly aggressive" and we expected we'd never be able to handle her, however the minute we showed her kindness she blossomed into an incredibly loving animal. Since then, she has wanted nothing more than to be pet, held, and loved by the only people who have ever treated her with compassion.

Isis got her name from the Egyptian Goddess known for her kindness and love.

About Raccoons:

Raccoons are some of the smartest and most wily animals in North America. They're extremely adaptable and are able to thrive both deep in the woods and in urban cities. They have complex problem solving abilities. That paired with their dexterity and sensitive touch makes them the perfect bandits. Many people believe that raccoons seen during the day are most likely rabid, but it's actually common for raccoons to be out before dusk. One of the main reasons is that a nursing mother will never leave her kits alone at night, and has no other time to find food.
