About Bruce:

Bruce spent the first portion of his life in nature where he belongs. Unfortunately, his life changed when he got stuck in a bird feeder. A Good Samaritan rescued him, but not until after he had caused irreparable damage to his right wing.

When we got Bruce, he had been living in captivity for about a month with an exposed and de-gloved bone. We brought him right to the vet and found out that in order for Bruce to survive, he would need that portion of his wing amputated. Luckily with the help of our donors and support network, we were able to get Bruce's surgery in a timely fashion and save his life. 

 

About Bats:

Few people realize that within the past several years, North American bat populations have declined so drastically they are now facing extinction. This is widely due to white-nose syndrome, a fungal disease spreading like a wildfire. Bat conservation is important not only to the species, but to our world. Bats are pollinators, pest control, and essential. One bat can eat over 1,200 bugs in a night, and without them agricultural businesses will be forced to use significantly more pesticides that have crippling effects on our natural resources.
